A lifelong creator and misfit, I found myself outdoors, playing music, reading books, or lost in video games. Right out of high school I performed music nationally, this was my first glimpse of what high-level creative worlds were like... the music industry isn’t known for being a kind, positive place for young, often disgruntled teens, Due to a series of Cannabis related arrests and trauma, I was unable to leave the state for tour or drummer-for-hire work. After 7 years in the service industry, I was presented an opportunity to work for a dear friend's wedding production company. From Intern to Executive Producer, we won several festivals and awards together. Eventually, the company was sold to become what is now an Emmy-winning studio. From there, I traveled the world as a documentary producer, cinematographer, and director telling stories for some of the largest brands on the planet, as well as covering humanitarian issues for NGOs and 501c3s in various countries.

A life-changing medical accident left me crippled in 2017 and that’s where Cannabis really saved me in so many ways. While I recovered from the medical accident, I was fortunate to work in the Virtual Reality industry, leading one of the world’s largest e-commerce marketplaces for VR content. As such, I was able to cut my teeth in International Business and Marketing, working on deals with The BBC for Dr. Who The Edge of Time, Google, Facebook, Fox, and more. After several months of buyers remorse & getting physically ill from bad products in the Oklahoma Medical Market (and California rec market), I decided to put my passions to use in the cannabis space & bought my first macro lens in early 2020. While opioid, antidepressant, and benzodiazepine prescriptions stacked up, I never filled them. Cannabis provided a more natural, and healthier alternative to me, or so I thought. Once I found out how much bad product was being passed off as medicine I became obsessed with learning how to be as healthy as possible, for my own sake. I saw an opportunity to take that knowledge of being a leader on the cutting edge of an emerging market and bring a level of professionalism to the Cannabis industry, that was really exciting to me. Since then we’ve taken a shared passion for art, meaning, and storytelling to elevate an already existing brand, into something we are really proud of that’s constantly growing and evolving with an industry that itself changes almost daily.

Growing up I was always surrounded by art, my mother, my grandmother, my aunt, my great aunt, and my great grandmother were all artists, one might say my life was a little different, a little more free thinking. I was taught from a very young age how to conceptualize things in a more abstract manner, to see things in ways one typically doesn’t. This helped shape who I am today. I pursued graphic design and photography in college as a means to express myself further and continue to push my creativity to the next level. Throughout my life cannabis has been instrumental to me, whether it be dealing with depression and anxiety, or helping me be more compassionate and guided in my thinking.

After witnessing my mother being taken advantage of in the extremely volatile new medical cannabis market, I knew I needed to step in and help educate the emerging community. Cannabis is more than a stigma, it is medicine, I've witnessed it give new life to people suffering from severe pain, depression, PTSD, anxiety, and cancer. The list goes on and on. But what I’m most passionate about is making sure those patients get the clean medicine they deserve, not a product being pushed to make money but one with actual substance, a product with the patient at heart. That’s when I decided to found The Medicated Okies in 2018, to give insight into the market through high level creative, engagement with the community, and calculated educational posts. Today that vision has surpassed what I could have imagined, with the help from everyone involved in The Medicated Okies we have been able to execute at a level almost unparalleled, taking local brands to new heights and paving the way in this industry for top level creative.
